I was reading New York Times magazine this Sunday and came across this story of a girl named Maggie Doyne. And the first question that came to my mind was -- do such people really exist?! To me, she seemed like a character from some movie. How can someone, at the age of 19, leave her home, fly half the world to go to a remote country, start living there just so as to help the kids live a better life, while completely ignoring your own career, family and previous life?
Maggie is a true heroine! I wish I could spend at least 1 year of my life like that. If only I had a little more courage.
